The pinnacle of Spanish white: finesse from old vineyards
The Ossian Verdejo is a masterpiece, a white wine made in the style of the great Burgundian wines. It comes from ungrafted, century-old Verdejo vines from the village of Nieva (Segovia), situated on sandy granite soils. This unique and historical heritage gives the wine its incredible depth and finesse.
Origin & Uniqueness: Grown at extreme altitudes in Castilla y León. TheThe ancient age of the vineyards ensures an extremely low yield of grapes with an unprecedented concentration.
Organic viticulture and careful vinification, including fermentation and maturation in oak barrels (usually 9 months), produce an exceptionally stylish wine.
Aroma & Palate: The nose is extremely complex and layered. You'll discover intense notes of ripe white fruit (peach, pear) and citrus, complemented by creamy nuances of vanilla, toasted almond, and hints of wild mushrooms and minerals (granite). On the palate, it is powerful, concentrated, yet surprisingly elegant. The texture is creamy, the acidity vibrant, resulting in a superbly long, layered finish.
Character : This is a Verdejo with great ageing potential. It has the power to be substantial, yet always retains the finesse and freshness characteristic of the world's finest white wines.
Tasting notes:Powerful, complex, and elegant. A Verdejo with an inimitable texture, mineral tension, and the cellaring qualities of a grand cru.
